Shinigami, but also not likely since aizen would then have said offspring of 2 shinigami's and not a shinigami and a....

Why is everyone bashing his theory?!!?!? I personally looked over that part of the manga and now that he made me realize it, i think thats total baws shyt if ichigo were to be part Quincy too. So that would make Ichigo a Human/Shinigami/Quincy people forget sometimes that quinces are humans.....

No. Aizen said at the end of the chapter something like, "because you are the offspring of a shinigami and a..." then Isshin interrupts. Then at the beginning of the NEXT chapter, it says, "because you are the offspring of a HUMAN and a..." then it interrupts again. So if you add the two up, he was going to say shinigami and human. Nothing to do with Quincy.

He obviously can't lose his Bankai for some other reason. Probably because he is part human.

I agree with this as you don't need to be a Shinigami to be a royal since noble families don't always become Shinigami.

I thought it was human back then, but then what would be the point of covering it up? I doubt it's hollow, 'coz would a hollow be able to give birth to human babies. Quincy would make more sense, since it's never been explained how Ichgo's sister can also see hollows and spirits. So best bet is his mother was a quincy, maybe even Ishida's Aunty since both Dad's seem to know each other pretty well

It's not like Aizen was gonna say human...
