I like the colors. the background is just c4ds on softlight with low opacity (or pretty close), but it gives a nice effect. what killed it was the render being so over contrasted and the light not fitting (bright light, yet the render is the darkest part and has really dark black outlines).

My suggestion: when you want to change a color look into using the color change brush tool, burn and dodge tool along with the hue/saturation tool instead of just the hue/saturation by itself. it'll help your colors blend more naturally.
