@ sarutobi sasuke: you seem to want to ignore all the things that actually DO point to Fugaku being Tobi, such as;

Fugaku had the motive to want to overthrow konaha by force.

When Tobi attacked konaha, Fugaku, who is supposed to be leader of the police force is nowhere to be found. ( what other reason would kishi have to make that point when Itachi is left holding his brother who was just born) where were the parents! And Why did kishi make a point of showing us that?

Fugaku has the knowledge of the uchiha clans history due to access to the hidden uchiha tablet.

If to tobi helped itachi slaughter them, why did Tobi spare Sasuke? We know why Itachi did, but why didnt Tobi kill him? It's not like he was scared of Itachis power at that point, and the point was to kill ALL the uchiha.

And why did Tobi allow Itachi to live as long as he did. Itachi was clearly defiant of Tobi and wanted him dead.

On that note, why is Tobi Keeping sasuke alive? He implanted Itachis eyes in him creating the EMS, so why didnt he kill sasuke and take the eyes right then and there? Even if he did t need them yet, he stores so many other sharingan, you would think he would take those too....unless daddy has a sweet spot for his little boy.

Tobi is Nagato.

My theory goes like this, Tobi is in fact Nagato and Nagato is Tobi, but how can this be? Well I think Tobi is actually Nagato's other personality come to life. Okay when Nagato first unlocked his Rinnengan he said he blacked out and killed the leaf ninja I think that is when Tobi manifested himself and killed the Ninja I think thats what Tobi meant by he gave the rinnengan to Nagato(theres no reason he would lie about this because he felt he was going to kill Konan) that when his other personality was activated the rinnengan was also activated. We know that the Uzumaki are descendant from the So6p as well and the So6p probably had had his sons by the time he was dying so when he sired them probably had the Juubi inside of him and we know that traits of a demon can be passed down from parents to child (Naruto's whisker's) so what if traits of the demon were passed down to through the Uzamaki clan? Thats why they have such huge chakra bases and since they have genes from both the juubi and the So6p it would be possible for Nagato to possess the latent ability to activate the sharingan and the rinnengan and we know that activating the sharingan comes from near death situations so maybe when Nagato had the mutant rinnengan gene and sharingan gene and activated them at the same time and since it would be an impossibility to possess two different doujutsu at the same time the So6p ability of creating things into reality kicked in and created another Nagato the one we know as Tobi, but instead of the rinnengan he had the sharingan. He then went to confront Madara Uchiha about this later on in his life after going trough a harsh life in Ame like the other Nagato but never met any friends so his views on the world became warped. When he did eventually meet Madara he got trained by him and eventually killed him which would explain his jutsu and being taught by Madara he knew about the history of Konoha and all. After this he dyed his hair and wore a mask in order to take on the identity of Madara and not to long after Itachi approached him.Or something along these lines.

This would explain why
-Madara knows Nagato
-Why Tobi said he gave Nagato Rinnengan
-Why Tobi and Nagato have the same "save the world in my own destructive way syndrome"

Hahahahaha I KNEW IT! I am 100% now that the guy behind the mask is Izuna Uchiha! Everyone has had so many theories, even I have changed my mind over and over but I knew it! I knew it! I feel like a 5 year old kid on christmas 10000 FOLD!

I am truly 100% convinced that Tobi is Izuna. I just knew it!

I am truly 100% dead set on my theory now that it is true.

I believe has I have said in loads of threads before that Madara really did die when he fought the 1st Hokage and that Izuna wasn't really dead and took back his eyes from Madara.

No one would know what happens if your eyes were taken by your brother so that he could activate EMS and then you end up taking them back, what happens? No one knows. Hahahahaha I can't believe this. I really am so freaking happy. I mean it if I see one saddo rate this manga below a 5, I will mentally picture myself shooting them. I don't care how nooby that sounds.

Hahahaha this will demolish so so so so many theories people have made and re-create loads of theories. For now I am sticking with my theory that I have always said about Izuna and Madara. Truly I loved this chapter. It is my most favourite so far.

However the only flaw in my eyes with my theory is the Nagato comment that the REAL Madara made

How could he know Nagato when he was a kid? This is all confusing.

Okay... so I read through this and I think that Ignazi could in fact split the soul. The sage split the soul (chakara) and the body of the 10 tails and then split the soul (chakara) into 9 other beings.
So that being said Tobi could in fact be telling the truth and be Madara but of course being split for so long developed differently. aka different personality tobi and this also could mean different techniques. because as tobi said he fought the battle to gain the flesh of the 1st. what if he infused his soul into a piece of harishima's flesh. this could be why his body is so unstable.

Those are the top best thoerys imo atm.

I'll start it with the ones I think most plausible to the least ones.

- Izuna remains possible.

- Kagami intrigues me.

- Tobirama has always been a possibility according to me. His name rythms, he knows Teleportation, he was damn cultivated, his death is not fully cleared according to my eyes and he seemed sure to die; making me think that he was waiting for these moment to start his plan.
- A new character. Plausible. I always thought that since SO6P was so great, maybe he had a No.1 enemy/fierce rival at his time.

- Uzumaki Clan Leader - Possible. He annihilated his clan secretly, still lives being an Uzumaki. Knew exactly when Kushina's seal will weaken perhaps.

- Zetsu. Part of his body is made of Zetsu but he isn't Zetsu apparently. Most likely only his body but his mind, soul and powers originates from someone's else. It'll be disappointing also; seeing how Naruto single-handely raped the Zetsus till now. If he is a Zetsu, perhaps he'll be Golden.

- SO6P, I doubt it. It's too OP'd. I wouldn't make sense that he'll get afraid of Edo Madara.

- Shisui and Fugaku are pretty impossible.

- Hashirama, nope. From all the astounding knowledge and things, I saw Tobi do. Wood was never one of them.

- Obito, GTFO. I'll stop reading the manga probably then.

I cleared two of your doubts.
Those two are currently residing in the belly of the death god so they cannot be tobi since they were also previously summoned using IWR by orochimaru meaning they had already been transformed to souls...
unless orochimaru pulled some cheap IWR imitation there...

Also i still don`t understand why and how in the world would the edo tensie madara would have known nagato....its highly inplausible...

Danzo mentioned in the Summit the people that could control tailed beasts , the only one with the sharingan is Madara.If Tobi isn't Madara , then how did he control the fox during his attack on Konoha ?

That's why I have a feeling Tobi is really Madara.Just don't know how there are 2 souls & minds of Madara at the same time

Im confused on how he could be an Uchiha, why is his sharingan always activated and also his face was wierd when we saw the mask broken due to the fight againt konan... I'm stumped, i love how Kishi does this but at the same time it's frustrating. Just voicing an opinion, i do think the thoery of the elder son is a good one but at this point i don't know? Can anyone clarify how he can be an Uchiha to me please.

The only Uchiha known to control the Kyubi is Madara by his EMS ( this is mentioned by Danzo & Itachi ) This increases the chances of Tobi = Madara.
