He was forced to lie in order to get Sasuke on his side. But he also left out the parts he played in the story as well (that would turn Sasuke away). he's an eveil master mind he gets props for that. He probably enjoys lying to people as well xd lol

yea at first I thought the person in the 6th coffin would be his brother or the original Sage but recently I started backtracking all the events and thinking. First off, if Tobi was Madara, and telling everyone he is indeed Madara, why wear a mask. The purpose of a mask is to conceal an identity and since he proclaimed to everyone that he WAS Madara, there should be no need.
Then I remembered when Kabutomaru encountered "Madara" he said something on the lines of "Hey Tobi, oh I heard you go by Madara now"....So I started to think maybe he really isn't Madara. This morning proved right! But then who is behind the mask.
I don't know.
We DO know that in order to use Izunagi, you need both Uchiha and Senju genes.
It might still be Madara like others predict. Maybe Madara used a similar body transfer technique like Orochimaru to the 1st Hokage's body. :shrug:

No, i'm not reffering 2 nagato. Once tobi/madara said that nagato was the third person in shinobi who got rinnegen when he was fighting against konan(cant tell the chapter). And we know so6p is the first who got rinnegen. Then who is the 2nd? Thats why,i'm thinking that tobi was the 2nd ninja who got rinnegen.
And may b aftr that tobi gave it 2 nagato and use sharingan eyes 4 study the uchiha clan and sharingan's power. Aftr complete his research on uchiha,he again get rinnegen back from nagato. Thats why tobi's sharingan always active,and he keep so many sharingan eyes.

i understand the manga page your referring to but there madara said that nagato was the third of the six paths and the uchiha clan and the senju clan were the first and the second paths meaning ....


The three of the six paths were the Uchiha clan, the senju clan and the uzumaki clan

The problem is see is:
Madara Uchiha KNOWS Nagato. He calls him by his name! And he thinks, that Nagato has ressurected him! This is a essential fact!

Nagato HAD to be alive when Madara was alive. But this doesnt match with the fact, that Jirajia was the teacher of Nagato! The only possibilty is: Nagato as we know is NOT the real Nagato. And Tobi, my theory implies that Madara uchiha meant the guy we call Tobi, when he said: that brat has grown up., is the real Nagato! And he possessed the Rinnengan, he gave to "Nagato-as-we-know"

^This plus I have a feeling that the name "Nagato" might be symbolic/ title to the one entrusted to "keep" the rinegan till needed by the "owner". This would fit:-
To madara (original)-Tobi is Nagato
To Tobi - Pain(whoever you want to call) is Nagato
....if Pain would have given the rinegan to someone else, That burger would be "Nagato"!:lili:

Looks like no one remembers tobi saying like "rinne tensei was supposed for me" when he found out Nagato died after Rinne tenseied konoha villagers.

I think the fake Madara is either obito+zetsu or just zetsu. Madara had contacted zetsu before his death(battle with first hokage). I don't think there's any indication about when zetsu was created/born. I think there's a possibility that tobi is zetsu, or stocked up madara's chakra in a zetsu form . It is confirmed that tobi has zetsus cell. And is an uchiha. We just don't know which uchiha he is. Could be kagami or whoever.

And also zetsu never called Tobi Madara. Maybe it's because zetsu knew that he was not Madara. Maybe because he found him(obito when he was about to die) or tobi is Madaras chakra infused zetsu.

ahah my money is still on tobi=madara

im chosing this because the scenario i built is alot more kish-like and i want to be unique and NOT say tobi=izuna/obito/kagami/the elder son.

i think their is/was two madaras ; original & "test tube baby madara manufactured by real madara by using izinagi"(research how ying and yang chakra works). well in that time that madara was "raising" second madara(most known as tobi) he encountered a test subject to try and obtain rinnegan, nagato. real madara gave nagato his sharingan to mix with nagatos uzumaki genes and evelove it in to rinnegan. but nagato was a youngster back then and madara didnt have the time. so he told "tobi" to proceed with the plans of moons eye plan on his own while the real madara stayed dead(real madara is missing half of tobi btw). tobi/madara came up with the plan to use the "outer path" of the rinnegan(the one that nagato used to bring every one in the hidden leaf back to life), madara wanted to bring his other half back to life, into tobis body which will also house the juubi by then. hence when nagato dies tobi said "damn you nagato you was suppose to save that technique for me. and also why tobi said "im only a shell of my former self". this was the hidden plan that was between tobi zetsu and real madara. notice the first thing madara noticed when he came out, he had an ASSUMPTION that nagato grew up because he EXPECTED nagato to resurrect him when he mastered his rinnegean, but then "impure world resurrection" was mentioned and madara had no idea he was brought back by it, i dont even think he knew what it was.
if you havent caught on by now. i believe that madara engineered tobi and poured some of his soul into him just so real madara can die to buy time for the moons eye plan and keep himself in low profile. also to keep monitoring nagato who was the test subject for the rinegan.
