How could real Madara know about nagato?

Any ideas?

Nagato could ressurect dead but how would ancient madara know?

EDIT:

Maybe "real" madara gave the rinnegan to the uzumaki clan for safekeeping. Madara may have stroke a deal that the uzumaki clan implanted the rinnegan into one of their children and named him "nagato". Nagato would then be in service of the Uchiha clan in the form of akatsuki. Madara was aware of the rinnegans ability to revive so that may be what he refers to.

well tobi said he or madara did give hime the rinnegan in the first place....someone needs to make a timeline for when everything went down....im so confused
