I agree with psukkar's original post. It would also explain certain differences in the hair styles "Tobi" had. For instance when he attacked Konoha and fought the 4th Hokage Minato, his hair style was short like is was during his first appearence.

Yet when Itachi speaks of him and Madara first meeting it was long, also during Kisame's flash back to him controlling the Mizukage it was also long. Yet during his first appearance it short again.

I could be reading too much into this but I believe this was to signify the difference of character. To somehow hint at the fact that there was more than one person pulling the strings behind the scenes like psukkar said the two Uchiha brothers Madara and Izuna

Really don't see how Tobi could be Obito because like its been said before there is no motive for Obito to want to destroy Konoha. He died happily and willingly gave Kakashi his eye...

Exactly what I was thinking. The difference in appearance is strange. It also makes me believe that Madara did not die too long ago. Seeing as the long hair Tobi was seen talking to Itachi before the massacre, talking to Kisame, and he claimed to give Nagato the Rinnegan. Nagato wasn't that old too.

Its a very good theory but still there are others too. this is what makes this so frustrating as no one will no for sure until next week. However it is also possible that it is Madara's brother too as he seems to know a lot about the relationship between the two brothers. The only thing that makes me doubt the theories is the way Kabuto adresses "Madara" as "I here you go by as Madara now." This means he has no fear of him which would come if it had been the eldest son of the sage of six paths unless they had already met eachother. Its a tricky one! =)

Obito = Mask Man/Tobi

I don't say this just because their names are similar. Not long ago, the theory of obito being the Mask Man/Tobi was just as simple as the relationship of the names that both Obito and Tobi have in common. However, for the past couple of chapters the theory of obito being tobi grew larger and larger. Now, there are events in naruto manga that links obito to tobi.

1. The name
2. The double personality
3. The similar eye power that kakashi and tobi possess
4. The missing grave/body of Obito
5. The secret of Rin's Death
6. The appearance of Tobi
7. The appearance of Edo Uchiha Madara

wrong! kabuto said he couldnt find shishui's body or any of his dna when he was explaining IWR to tobi... Itachi took care of that. Kabumaru who is holding oro's will and some of his power i believe share a similar background with tobi. (who i think is a zetsu clone) and is holding madara's will as well as some of his power. Tobi was also worried about how much oro knew about what he was doing during his time in akatsuki and probably followed suit leaving his will to do his bidding.

The only one who is wrong here is you my friend lol, you people on this website put too much thought into Naruto. The fact of the matter is this! Tobi = Shisui & that's a fact. He gave his eyes up so freely, because when he became consumed with power he was focused on the moons eye plan. Why would Shisui tell people he is Uchiha Madara? The same reason he left a fake death note, he wants people to believe he no longer exsist!

Itach's & Saskues dad = no
Obito = Hell no, worse one yet..

Knowing who Tobi is, is small compared to knowing what transpired. You'll soon see
