* * Cyrus’s POV * *
I find that Tsunade needs to be Hokage a lot sooner, because this hospital needs a makeover by the one and only. These nurses are working so terribly that they mine as well be giving me freaking Ebola.
For a recap, I was released from Ibiki’s custody to the Hokage’s, and from the Hokage’s custody to the hospital. Hiruzen insisted that I get this chakra issue figured out, and it wasn’t fun in the slightest. For one, they tore off most of the skin on my arm to get down to my Chakra Pathway Network, and found out that I HAD one, but I had no chakra. It looks like this weird, filmy tube that’s all deflated unless it had chakra running through it. Once they sewed my skin back into place, they began to call in Jounin to funnel chakra into a machine that would be filtered and distributed into my system. I was sitting up on my bed the whole time, a needle sticking so far into my arm that I thought it was touching my bone, and an unfamiliar feeling of energy coursing through me.
The nurses were terrible for simple reasons. For one, they did all of their work without any kind of protection on their gloves or body, so I would be dealing with some serious germ infestation if they didn’t wash their hands. For another, they never cleaned any of the materials throughout the entire time that I was in my surgery. Of course, the only disease I can think of in Naruto is Itachi’s alleged Tuberculosis, but that a protein-based disease as far as I know.
As for Naruto? He was put on house arrest for a week, but snuck out to visit me on several occasions. I’m pretty sure that what the Hokage said about Naruto staying at home was complete bullshit since it was pretty obvious that no one was watching over him. We talked a little bit, and I learned about what he meant by “I’ve seen you before.”
Apparently, I’ve been visiting Naruto since he was 6. For 4 years, we would talk, eat, chat, and do a lot of other things. From what he described, the person he was with was basically me. Same likes, dislikes, hobbies, dreams for the future… I wonder where I have heard that from before.
So after all this time, I finally understood a small portion of my past in Naruto, but now I have to figure out my future here as well. Luckily, a knock on the door was my ticket to answers.
“Good morning, Cyrus.” Hiruzen said, a smile on his face as he closed the door behind him. This chakra was getting me really jittery, and I had the urge to punch something with all the strength I had. “How are you today?”
“Pretty good, Hokage-sama.” I said respectfully, feeling myself vibrate as a cold fluid released in my head. “Do you know why I’m still hooked up to this thing?” I motioned to the machine feeding me chakra so he could get the idea of what I was saying.
“The nurses told me that their plan was to give your body small bursts of chakra until you started producing your own, but they may have to extract it to pull yours out as well. It usually starts flooding your abdomen before it spreads out evenly through your body. Do you feel it yet?” He explained, finishing his expository commentary with a question.
“I feel a little cold in my stomach and head, but other than that, I’m fine.” I responded.
“Good, then it’s probably working.” The Sandaime Hokage stood up and looked out a nearby window, watching as kids played near the park outside. “Do you have an idea of what you actually want to do with your training?”
“Well,” I began. “I told you before that I was starting with Taijutsu, but I was scared and blinded by how you told me I have no chakra.” I felt a little more coldness in my chest area. Probably chakra getting to me heart. “I think that once this is done, I’ll focus on the basic 3, Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, and Taijutsu, before moving on to the various nature transformations and shape manipulation. I think that’s a long stretch for only two years, but I don’t plan on doing it all in that little amount of time.”
“Why two years?” He asked me in confusion. I didn’t think about how he doesn’t know I plan to be ready when Naruto graduates, or in his mind, if he graduates.
“Just a good time to go to the academy and hopefully graduate with flying colors.” I said honestly.
“Alright then.” He said, walking back over to my bed. “I think I have an idea for you. I can get you some of the best for your training. Kurenai Yuhi can work on your genjutsu, Kakashi Hatake can work on your Ninjutsu, and Gai can work on your Taijutsu.”
He stood up and looked at the machine. “As for elemental transformations, I will bring back Kakashi, as he has 4. In any other event, I can find another sensei to help you with each individual element, although it’s unlikely that you’ll have more than two.”
“I’m hoping I get Wind Style and Fire Style. They’re a personal favorite of mine.” I said.
“That’s good to hear.” He said, smiling at me. “Of course, if I live long enough, and you train hard enough, maybe I can give you some pointers.”
“You actually have skill?!” I asked him, pausing for a second to realize how rude it sounded.
“Yes. I know a lot of things and can apply them just as well. They said I would make a great Hokage because of it.” He confirmed.
“Well I guess I’m becoming Hokage someday.” I said, my inspiration genuine.
“You’d be a great asset to your village, Cyrus.” He said to me with a smile. “Now rest. I’m going to come back in a few hours with a sensory type to see if you’re producing your own chakra.”
I didn’t respond, but pulled up the sheets that were resting on my legs in an effort to show that I was going to sleep now. He nodded, walked up to the door, and exited the room moments later. I laid down in bed, wondering why the hell he asked me to sleep when it’s one o’clock in the afternoon.
* * *
Around seven, he came back into my room. The nurses did a very nice job explaining the process that was happening within me. Basically, every cell in my body was going to start producing chakra, and my body would create limits to prevent it from disrupting my body or killing me. That’s what the 8 gates are. If I trained towards it, I could release these gates like Kakashi, Gai, or even Lee and become even stronger, but there’s too much of a risk to it.
Hiruzen walked in with Kakashi, Kurenai, and Gai. All 3 lined themselves up as if they were about to show me some sort of dance routine. Hiruzen sat down in a chair next to my bed and motioned at the three, each who looked at me with a smile.
“Cyrus, meet Kakashi Hatake,” He said, motioning towards a tall man with a headband covering his eye and tall silver hair protruding from his scalp, “Gai,” He said, motioning towards a man with a well-defined face and a bowl haircut, “And Kurenai Yuhi.” He finished, motioning towards a tall woman with long curly hair and bright red eyes. “These three will be teaching you for the next two years. Normally I’d put people like you in the academy, but since you insisted on ‘Learning from the best’, and you’re quite new, I’ll make an exception.”
We talked for a little while and went over the plan. Kakashi was going to go first and teach me about basic chakra control and utilizing it within my body. Gai would continue by teaching me how to apply my body to various situations. Kurenai would finish it off by teaching me about applying my chakra to the environment around me, then Kakashi would come back and teach me about basic elements.
They left, I ate, and I awoke the next day ready to fight.

This chapter was shorter than the others because It's more of a filler/setup chapter. Next chapter will be longer, I promise.
Also, for those who may be reading on Wattpad as well, it's not letting me upload chapters correctly for some reason, so I have to improvise and find a way around it later.
