[Discussion] Oda san copies from american comics too!!!

I thought he only copies real cities in his anime like Water7 - venice, alabasta- egypt etc..

But he copies from american superheroes too.Like:-

Amazon lily island - Island paradise of wonder woman
Doffy - Joker's name and intelligence
Corazon - Joker's apperanace

Comment if i have left anyone else.

The golden city is also based of lore of a real city, probably South American like the Aztects or something seeing the style of the city buildings etc.
As for the Amazons, I doubt he took inspiration from Wonder Woman lol. It's just classic Greek Mythology..Island nation solely inhabited by woman.
There is a washing list of cultures, movies, real life persons etc where oda took inspiration/references from.

Firstly there's a very huge difference between copying and using as inspiration. Secondly Oda has used a ridiculous amount of different movies, books, series, stories, legends etc. as inspiration for hell of a lot of things. So that he would use American comics is really nothing unusual, he has even used Belgian comics.

The examples you use however are extremely poor. The Amazons are a fictional female-only society from Greek mythology where they even cut off one of their breasts so that they could shoot better with a bow. The Amazon river was also named after them as when European colonizers arrived in South-America, they immediately had to think of that mythological race of women when they saw the local population. This is also where the American comics got their mustard from for Wonder Woman as she's an amazone. It's higly doubtful that Oda, who knows about Greek mythology, would base Amazon Lily on Wonder Woman rather than the original source.

Joker and his appearance are meh. Even if that would be the case, nothing special here as he also has used Cervantes Don Quichote as inspiration and so many other things.

Allow me a little nitpicking here, as to my knowledge what you mention is a theory based on the etymology of "Amazon" that is considered highly unlikely to be true if not disproved.

That's not copying lol. It's called inspiration. I'm not even sure the "inspirations" you're calling out are even correct or not.

Doffy's got joker's intelligence and laugh. While corazon got his appearance. They are very similar to each other, their skinny face, red lips which are extended to cheeks, change his hair style and color to green, you will see hardly any differences. Doffy is mastermind and always has smile on his face just like him. Same applies to Amazon lily, where women dominates the island, extremely strong womens who hate men, men are forever banned from their island and beautiful island just like the island paradise to wonder woman. One extremely strong beautiful female who is queen for their people exactly like wonder woman. I can't see that it is an inspiration, for me it is copying with just different appearance and name.

On topic- ... Did you not notice Zoro in the very beginning or have you ever read about Pinocchio a long nosed liar..Everything is a mix and match. Writers take elements from here and there all the time.

It was their etiological tradition to cut their right breast not for shooting arrows, and it was believed by classical greeks not originally under the main myth.
As for joker appearance, whether you agree with me or not but they are heavily similar to each other and as for cervantes book, hardly a name has been taken from it, no similarity with the character
