Yep. Malaysian speciality. I've actually been offered to eat it during one gastronomy conference in Croatia 2 years ago. Declined it.
Death cases were documented trough the years when the octopuses simply stuck themselves with suckers in the throats of the victims, causing them to suffocate. Karma's a bi*ch.
