Obito's Rinnegan

If all it takes to obtain the Rinnegan is the combination of Senju and Uchiha DNA, why didn't the Rinnegan activate right after Madara implanted the Senju DNA into him?

I personally believe you need a moment of true despair for it to unlock. Madara didn't feel this despair until before his death.

It takes a long time. Madara transplanted hashi dna but nothing happened until he was on his death bed.

He had quite a bit of time, he was 13 when it was implanted up until now when he is ~30. But I do agree with the no EMS thing.

maybe you need to have EMS in order for your eyes to progress into rinnegan.EMS+SENJU DNA that is

He needs EMS to get rinnegan eyes but a near death experience is needed. Obito had rinnegan techniques, he just needed one rinnegan to
control the statue well. (Like he fid against darui's squad)
