I think his reasoning behind why he is going through with the Tsuki no Me ("You let Rin die") is weak. I know he was trapped in Madara's cave for a while and was eager to see Rin, when you're a ninja almost all the time you will lose at least one friend or comrade or go through anything tragic in your lifetime. For example, look at Itachi. He was forced to kill HIS ENTIRE CLAN AND HIS PARENTS partially due to the Konoha elders. But did that make Itachi turn against the village? No! Even though he joined Akatsuki, it was to be a spy for KONOHA, the same village that had him kill off his clan. He still loved the village and of course Sasuke. There are other examples in mind I have, such as the way Jinchuriki like Gaara, Bee and Naruto were treated, but I feel like the Itachi example is the best one. So this sh*t Obito is giving I won't buy into completely. Thoughts on this? If you want to argue an opposing statement feel free.

That's right, Kishi just has to give Obito some more motive otherwise it is ridiculous.

Rin's life is only his personal benefit out of the plan. I'm pretty sure he's aiming to create a new world in which nobody has to go through pain and he can enforce peace without fail. The obvious flaw to this is the fact that they're being ruled by a single person and that things aren't "real" (which I personally don't care much for). The plan is supposed to be a way to stop betrayal, murder, and what not by letting people live in a world of bliss and fantasy.

I agree, and considering that he doesnt truly care for Madara, I think he could have a change in opinion if he finds out what truly happened with Rin. That situation is fishy. The chances of that happening, in such a close area to where he was located? And also, how would the zetsus have known what Rin and Kakashi even look like in the first place.

you realized this a half year later?

No, actually I didn't, I already had this in my mind a while ago, just didn't feel like posting a thread about it. And half a year later? I'm pretty sure Obito revealed his reasoning a month or two ago. So rude, sheesh!

If someone killed the girl you love would you kill them? On top of that you see your comrade do it after you sacrificed your life to save him. On top of that you lost half your body. On top of that your young and easily influenced. Anyone at that age would have done the same.

I would agree if we never saw hashirama's flashbacks. The thing is, that shisui, & itachi were an anomaly in the clan. The thing, is that uchiha love so strong. They value friendship & love so much that their hearts cannot take being stripped of those things. Which is why a lot of them feel like their pain is greater than anything they inflict on others. it's no so much that their experiences ARE worse, but the fact that they FEEL like it is worse. Which is why so many of the infamous uchiha we have seen, are on some legendary status. Basically it's this " If my will is greater than yours, then I'll come out stronger than you". Obito is angry because he loved his life with kakashi and Rin and he valued their love & friendship.

He trusted kakashi to protect this woman, and before his very eyes the same guy he called his best friend killed the woman he told him to protect. Sounds legit. Then, he has no reason why the mist wanted rin, so he must've had to deny himself the possibility that she was in league with them. Made him lose faith in life. Some people's wills just aren't as strong as others. Example: Hashirama & Madara. Madara left his convictions, and tried to create peace with power.

Brainwashed for about 2-4 years, tryed do destroy his home and friends, killed his family and then he dissapered for like 16 years just to come back and start to goof around for a year or so.
In conclusion, he doesn't need a reason because he is crazy as a goat.
