The original post stated that this is speculated that Obito would either help Itachi, or stand back and let it happen. Yes, he is an Uchiha, but that doesn't necessarily mean he would agree with what his clan wanted to do. Remember, he isn't the average Uchiha (he seems more like naruto). It is very possible he would have chose the village (along with his friends and mentors) over his clan. If Obito's parents treated him like Itachi's did, it seems very likely he would help Itachi. Not to mention Obito would be in his 20's (could be very independent from the clan) at that time and would have a strong bond with his teammates, mentors, and the village itself.
