Obito's Intangibility

When obito becomes intangible (before the rinnegan) shouldn't he fall through the floor or ground. Did he have the ability to float? I didn't think he did. His whole body was intangible so when him and minato were facing off, When they were running towards each other, how was he running while intangible? Seriously wouldn't it be stupid if he only left his feet tangible? Can he even do that?

it wasnt explained or thought out well. he must be running on kamui blocks. altho against konan he was falling while intangible.

I thought that it was an ability that passively let things go through him. If anything overlapped with his body it would just phase right through. Normally people don't overlap with the ground that they are walking on so he wouldn't go through it.

I guess he falls into the ground at will, like the Danzo body guard fight.

There's no explanation, it's just something we have to accept. But no he can't float while intangible otherwise he'd be able to fly.

He can walk along the ground while intangible, but obstacles in the way of his feet still get phased through & he can still choose to phase underground, that's all we know.
