The problem is that he doesnt have any dojutsu/sharingan or any portion of uchiha dna, to me it makes no sense. Frankly, I dont want naruto to awaken the rinnegan because he's already a powerhouse as it is & the other half of kurama's chakra should make him one of the strongest anyways. I like the idea of naruto encompassing the body of the sage, but not really the eyes

This comes back to the theory that the Sage got the Rinnegan from the Juubi and that the sons power are primarily Juubi oriented because of CoAT.

Which seems completely logical. In no way is it genetically possible to have two sons that literally have two different halves of someone unless they were artificially created (From CoAT). Hence they are also the Body and Eyes of the Sage because they were created from his chakra (And at the time, HE WAS STILL THE JINCHURIKI OF THE JUUBI). His main chakra source was the Juubi so they were able to inherit the respective power. The Hatred was from the "Tomoes" of the Juubi and this is displayed in the Sharingan. The body is Mokuton and we've seen the Juubi use Mokuton techniques (When it killed Neji with the branches). So Madara combined the two bloodlines that stemmed from the Juubi (Who also had the God's eye; Rinnegan) to unlock the Rinnegan because it combined both the Body (Hashirama's Mokuton) and the Eyes (The Tomoe's; Hatred Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan).

Going by this, in theory, if someone were to get the 9 Bijuu's chakra (which comprise the Juubi), the same effects will be applied to the host (Rikudou and subsequently Naruto). And you can completely rule out Rikudou being born with the Rinnegan. It was stated he transcended humanism AFTER he became the Jinchuriki of the Juubi (And we know the God's eye is the Rinnegan, which lets him transcend humanism). The Juubi's eye also represents two things that we know it as; A god (The ripples of the Rinnegan) and the Tomoe's (Malice feelings).

That's my theory on how Naruto would unlock it (Because he has the chakra of the Bijuu and just needs Hachibi's).

The massive chakra reserves & strong body would also stem from the uzumaki clan.

If the sage was born from a "no-name" clan then this theory would hold weight, because it would suggest that anybody with the power of the bijuu could unlock the rinnegan. So it is possible if we assume that the sage did not possess any strong eyes beforehand.

That's possible but there is far more evidence to suggest he was purely an Uzumaki. And not everybody can host Bijuu, or Kurama for that matter. Kurama has only had Uzumaki Jinchuriki and the Sage housed the full Juubi; lending more weight to the Rikudou is an Uzumaki theory.

This whole rinnegan/sharingan/juubi thing is iffy as hell.

If one son got the body and can use the body power (mokuton) to the max without the DNA of his older brother, than the other son should be able to use the eyes(rinnegan) without DNA of his younger brother. But thats not the case, this shows that logic can't be used when it comes to the sage/sons theories. And the sad thing is that whatever happens to Obito won't prove anything.

1 He is an Uchiha with MS so even if he gets a new doujutsu it doesn't guarantee that every jubi host will get it.

2 If he doesn't get a new doujutsu, it could be because the jubi is still missing the 8 and 9 biju's.
