This is just my speculation, but I think it's close to valid.
I believe Obito's true intention is that of the obvious. The Moon-eye plan, which will come from reference of his flashbacks of Rin. But, I also believe his thought process dealing with this plan is not that simple.
However, I also believe even though Madara considered controlling Obito with his will as a failure he also have a few other plans that would go with his current one. Just like he had a plan to back up the fact that Nagato had a change of heart.
The former manga page also shows Madara acknowledging Obitos intellect when it comes to strategy. We're dealing with two masterminds here, who plans seems like they're clashing... or are they? To a certain extent it seems as if Madara's plan is incorporating Obito's plan without him realizing. Or is it vice-versa? The battle of the minds can be pretty intense.
- A lot of us assumed that Obito having flashbacks were leading him to redeem himself towards good in the end.
- However, the end turned out not to be that, but the beginning of him becoming the Juubis Jinchuuriki.

- The majority of us also assumed that Madara was "trolled" due to Obito no longer being controlled by his will. However, Madara is lax, calm and mellow about the entire situation. How can this be if Obito out thought him?
