I find it interesting he imaged that. Makes me wonder if he caught a glimpse of an AU where things would have been different if he would have let go of his hatred and returned to Konoha.

They say that every day we make a choice, in another universe we made a choice opposite of that and our life there is being lived completely differently from the one we're in right now.

Obito and Naruto have been compared numerous times and I know deep in his heart he was a good guy and he would have ruled Kohnoa with the same enthusiasm as Naruto.

Obito returning to the village would have changed the whole story drastically. He definitely would have been capable considering he was both powerful and smart...a bit like Minato actually.

Interesting idea.
Either he stays with team Minato and stops Rin getting kidnapped, resulting in him being a Jounin or Anbu at best, since Minato would eventually elect Kakashi. Since the Nine Tails attack wouldn't happen, The uchiha wouldnt be suspected, and Itachi wouldn't have killed him.

Or, he would get MS after rin dies, get 50X stronger than kakashi, and.....
