Obito, what's the point in manipulating Sasuke?

I don't really understand something concerning Obito. What's the point with Sasuke. If his only dream is to create infinite tsukuyomi, why did he wanted to have Sasuke that much? Why give him power-ups(MSE)? Why maintaining him alive all the time or save him in Kage summit? During this war he said

. Why? Isn't he the one who mentioned that he wanted to directly start with infinite tsukuyomi plenty of times(he even said that to Madara)? If they are in a illusion, what's the point with Sasuke now?

He now killed Sasuke with a Bijuudama. What was the point of manipulating him then?

I think that either Kishi is trolling, or there is something that Obito is scheming that we don't know right now

Well considering he said all of those things before Kabuto arrived on scene with his EDO army maybe Obito realized that he could not win with just him and the zetsus.

Also there is the fact that if not for Kabuto bringing back Madara someone with a rinnegan was going to have to revive Madara. Considering it is likely that reviving someone with the rinnegan takes the casters life (as it did with Nagato) then do you really think Obito was going to sacrifice his own life?

I think it was a backup plan, on the off chance nagato couldn't use rinne tensei to bring madara back. That way he could manipulate sasuke into getting rinnegan then use him to resurrect madara.

He said he wanted to sync him with the Gedo mazo which is basically the same as what madara was doing before he died. It's also how he got rinnegan, so it's all an insurance policy IMO.

Well even during this war in the fight against Naruto and co, he again mentioned Sasuke, which means that he didn't change his mind at all, or at least so far we know

At that time the Juubi was still just it's empty shell the Gedo mazo, and I guess he planned he throw Sasuke at Naruto and they fight, he'll capture the Kyuubi. Madara already said Obito was impatient, but I still have questions like if Madara wasn't revived was he goin to use Sasuke's Tsukuyomi. Though Obito probably started early cause he needed the Juubi power to beat them.

This is a good point, but I still think that Tobis original assurance policy holds true. Although he knew that madara's soul had been bound by Edo tensei, he also made a significant point of learning how to stop or break Edo tensei.

So I think he may have known that Edo wasn't a good form for madara to be revived in (which madara said as well). I'm willing to bet he was attempting to gain all tailed beasts, kill kabuto an stop Edo and then get sasuke to sync with Gedo an revive madara.

The naruto being a pawn to stimulate sasuke could also be a reference to sasuke being put in a near death situation after syncing so as to awaken the rinnegan.
