Itachi was the least of Obito's worries...heh...but you do make a valid point. Itachi was a thorn and wrench in Obito's plans.

that kid's scared of itachi. the kid didnt even tried to attack konoha and manipulated sasuke when itachi was still alive coz he's scared as a puss coz the man would whoop his ass the moment he break their deal. the kid's so scared that he's so careful not to show itachi some of his abilities coz he know for a fact that itachi would rape him. he even admitted that if it's just that itachi knows his secret he'll be a dead man.
