Brilliant thread. Obito is the most complex and diverse character in Naruto, though he's not a good villain. Tobi was a good villain. I know, Tobi and Obito are the same, but Tobi's personality and Obito's personality are totally different. It was as if like when the mask broke, Obito lost all his badassery, though he regained it when he became the Juubi's Jinchuuriki. I think the problem with Kishi is that he is repeating the same things in almost every chapter, some flashbacks about Rin and thoughts about Rin's death, and then talk between Naruto and Obito, it's getting redundant. A real villain is the one who is ruthless. Madara is ruthless, he doesn't give a shit about people's lives, though he wants peace too(Idk Madara is doing this for peace or for power). Madara is ruthless, egoistic, looks down on people,is full of hatred, is a psychopath, has a dark sense of humour, is pure evil, that's what Madara is. That's what makes him the perfect villain. Obito is a complex character, but not the perfect villain.
