Do you really think if Rin survived and grew up with Obito, he would stop loving her because she doesn't look like a 14 year old?
Those faults were understandable. It's stated that when an Uchiha loses something they love (and Obito loved her a lot) then their brain gets affected by chakra that converts their love into immense hate. Not to mention his constant brainwashing by Madara. Obito is emotionally weak, that's part of his character and has been even before Rin died.
You can call him a p*ssy, but he isn't a pedo, nor did he not love Rin.
That is actually not true. Love is having a selfless mindset.
These Uchiha changed because they did not get what they wanted and gave in to hopelessness. Notice in the manga that the Uchiha who could not accept reality became filled with hate (Madara, Obito, Indra, etc.), and the ones that did accept reality were not (Kagami, Shisui, Itachi, etc.)
Obito never actually loved Rin. He was obsessed with being with her. There is a big difference. Loving someone does not mean obsessing and selfishly clinging to someone, especially when that person does not reciprocate. Obito knew that she liked Kakashi.
I don't really think Rin cared too much for Obito, or she would have been honest with him about not returning his feelings when she knew he had a crush on her. Do you think that Rin would have changed her feelings for Kakashi, just because she lived and Obito never left? It is possible for either of them to change their minds, like Naruto did. Even Kakashi could have decided to give Rin a chance, and where would that leave Obito?
One of the most annoying things about this manga is that Kishimoto is obsessed with people being with those they had crushes on as a child. In reality, how many of us actually end up with the person we crushed on in kindergarten, middle school, high school, and beyond?
