Using the name of Madara Uchiha, and his bad shit crazy plan of turning the world into a single giant genjutsu,
Obito manipulated the great Nations to set aside their differences and face him, united as one.

Let's be honest guys, Obitos zetsu-army looked intimidating at first glance, but it had no hopes of winning
a war to begin with. It wasn't intended to anyway. The way grown-up Obito fights, shows that he isn't a fool.
He must have known that he didn't stand a chance in hell of getting to the 8 and 9-tails Jinchuuriki.

Too bad Kabuto showed up, revived Madara (to cite Obito: "you madman! How did you do this?!"),
reeignforced his army with edo-tensei zombies and screwed his plan over royally.
Currently tobi is in quite the pinch, if he reveals his true intentions, people may not accept his peace, as it was
based on a lie. If he doesn't stop Madara, the Moon-eyes plan might become reality.

Thus, Obito revived the 10-tails prematurely, which pissed Madara off quite a bit.
This one isn't difficult to figure out. He had no other options to prevent the worst possible scenario,
even at the risk of revealing his hostile intentions towards Madara.

So, yea. This be my theory!

Open Questions: Why did Obito try to destroy Konoha? What is his relation to Nagato? How did Rin die?

Hmm, nice idea but still, there are actions that brought a lot of suffering so dunno what to say, he's not that innocent.

I think, Kishi is making it fairly obvious, that it's in the nature of the Shinobi-system,
that one can not change anything without making someone else suffer for it. Only exceptions being Naruto,
because he has the ability to change people by shoving headbutts and books in their faces... somehow.

It's a cool theory, I'll give you that. But I find it unlikely to happen tbh. However, Obito might consider it a win/win situation because even if the plan fails, hey, at least he united the countries. Maybe he will show he is thinking this in the end. Just maybe. I don't think he's that bad really.

May be thats because he was scared when Kabuto showed Madara's coffine
BUT what about his past deeds that were bad
OR may be he wanted to excute the moons eye plan on his own way

Really cool theory but I still think Obito is on Madaras side but I do think Kakashi is going to talk no jutsu Obito into being somewhat good again. Sad but probably true.

Interesting idea.

To those who think Obito did too many negative things, think about all the people Itachi killed with the end result being no Civil War in the Leaf (and no one else having to get their hands dirty).

The concept could fit with Obito, although I don't see it happening - it's just my opinion :)

I see what your saying but he has crossed the line by far more then any other character has to be able to just turn good again

Nope, Really don't get these people posting saying Obito is just mad and that's why he is helping madara...

The bottom left panel explains why he wants to use the eternal gen.

He wants to see Rin U_U

I think in Obito's mindset after he casts a full-blown genjutsu, he'll revive all the dead people that died in the war and etc...so it doesn't matter how many people died and he wants to see rin again.

Gosh, I wish it would turn out this way. That would be the ultimate feel good way to the end the arc. I don't see it as being plausible, but +rep cause I like the idea of it.
