Being the host and controlling it using genjutsus or whatever wont give you the same as being it friend or one with it. No idea what will happen with Madara. He's still smiling like he ain't go no worries. Obito becoming the jinchuuriki doesn't necessarily hurt him since Obito will still go through the plan, Madara just can't have fun like he planned to before. The fact that he's not worried after turning on Obito does surprise me.

Rikudo had the ability to rip the juubi's chakra out of its body and create seperate enties from it. Im sure he didnt need to befirend it, he simply took its chakra, much like how naruto took kurama's before they became friends.
