Obito is misunderstood

I keep getting the vibe that people think Obito is a pedo or weirdo in his original resolve to reunite with Rin.
He's not. In Infinite Tsukuyomi we saw people can dream in alternative timelines so it would make sense that Obito's dream was to see a world where he wins the love of a future Rin, not exactly young Rin. He was merely chasing the idea of Rin, not child Rin.

Also, when Naruto calls him the "coolest guy" I think that meant Naruto wanted to say he understood Obito. That means that he knows what it's like to keep emotions to yourself and feel loneliness so in that way, he'd would've wanted to be his friend. It's not literally that he's better than anyone Naruto has met but that he was the one of the few people Naruto could exactly connect with.

Obito trying to create a dream world is not at all lame, it's basically what everyone wants. In that world, I don't think Obito would revive her at the same age. As I stated, trying to gain her approval was all that Obito wanted and that's a valid dream. Obito knew Madara would betray him and he actually ended up betraying Madara.

You're exactly right. The only problem with your suggestion of Kishi drawing an older Rin is the fact that Rin died at 13. There never was an older Rin for Obito to think about.

The real problem here is: people need to get their heads out of the gutter. Sure Obito thought of Rin, but when were any of those thoughts sexual? I challenge someone to show me one panel of adult Obito talking about Rin or thinking about Rin in a sexual way.

Sasuke thought about and talked about Itachi a lot too. I guess that Sasuke was gay/incestuous and he had a brother complex since apparently thinking and talking about someone is automatically sexual, regardless of what is actually said or shown in the thoughts.

You called Obito a pedo, so yes you did indirectly mention *** or activity of a sexual nature. Rin was also an adult as well. She was always the same age as Obito. She just died young so she didn't age physically in the afterlife. So no Obito didn't want to be alone with a 13 year old. He wanted to be alone with a 30 year old.
