I think everyone might be missing the importance of Obito saying Naruto was just like he was. Think back before Nagato turned good again he said Naruto was just like he was. That was merely preparing everyone for Obito having a change of heart and attacking Madara.

It's because his prime time is over. Don't you get it, his acting of pretending to be Madara Uchiha was just a hype to reach the tense moment of the Juubi to awaken.
