Obito is confusing me now, Did kishi messed up ?

Ok, so i don't know what is his deal.

We all know, obito made friendship with nagato so that he could use hin to revive madara, right?
So after nagato died, sasuke was supposed to be his replacement. This was his plan all along.
This is why he attached so many zetsu with sasuke, to keep an eye on him.

Now, the problem is, ever since madara came to battlefield and fought along with obito, obito is not supporting madara at all. He is fighting with him , saying stuff like " i was never your friend" etc...
And he now wants to become juubi jinchuriki all of a sudden , so whats the deal ??

If Obito wanted to become juubi jinchuriki in the first place, why did he went after sasuke ?
Did kishi do some last minute changes and now want to make obito the juubi jinchuriki instead of madara?

I think he only talked about being the jinchiriki out of desperation... Sasuke was originally supposed to be the host(secretly meaning there is some downside to being the juubi jinchiriki that hasn't been said yet)
