Yea, people may disagree. But quite frankly, I dont giveadamn. Im just placing my two cents on the counter about Obito.
People say his character development is crap, well, lets see what he started from and where is is now:
1- Loser like how Naruto was. No friends, no parents.
2- One of the worse in his class, and the worst Uchiha ever shown in terms of skill
3- Aspired to want to be hokage, and the girl he loved promised to stay by his side and watch over him
4- Experienced alot of life and death moments with his team
5- Risked his life countless times to save his comrades, even "died" to save them
6- Is rescued by Madara
7- Witnesses his bestfriend be forced to kill the one person he loved, he knew full well the reason why. Thanks to that he made the decision to team up with Madara and change the world.
8- Madara taught him all the forbidden Uchiha techs.
9- Inspired Nagato and Yahiko to create Akatsuki, and pretty much became the leader.
10- Tricked the entire world into a war where he could attempt to knock them all out in one fell swoop. ( How? That zestu trap worked pretty well until Naruto developed the sensing ability.)
11- Became the Jinchuuriki of the 10 tails
12- During his fight, he was struggling inside because Naruto reminded him of himself, and that a part of him was regretting the choices he had made.
I dont see how his character is destroyed. Sure, he did like to rub things in peoples faces. But the point in that was to show that Obito was trying to block out the part of him that was good by making everyone else feel despair like he did. But fighting Naruto, he couldnt help but be reminded of how it used to be, and what it would have been like if people where there for him, Naruto would have turned out like him if his friends werent there. Thats what Obito is suppose to represent. Thats what his character is, an alternate version of Naruto.
Those of you who say. "Duurrr, he started the war because the girl who friendzoned him died, blah blah" then my advice is you either need to learn how to read and learn how to understand a story and its meanings, or just give up.
He knew that SHE loved Kakashi, but regardless, she was the only other person who was of high importance to him. Which is why her death was his breaking point.
