Kishi is making it seem like he's doing it for Rin too much. We can see from these pages, that Obito has ulterior motives:
'a world where heroes don't have to make pitiful excuses in front of graves'
Here Obito is challenging Naruto as to what he would do if he failed, just as he did in failing to protect Rin.
And here Obito states that he wants to change the fate of the world.
And here Obito talks about the Moon's eye operation.
So Obito does have ulterior motives than just the simple matter of Rin, but IMO Kishi should stop with the Rin flashbacks as he is really making it seem that it really is just about her. But Obito was only thinking about here in near-death situations so now that he is in control, it will most likely cease in the next chapter.
