Goku didn't win against Kid Buu, it was a joint effort by Goku, Vegeta, Mr Satan, Fat Buu and pretty much the entire Universe giving Ki to make a huge Genki Dama.

You're thinking of GT when Goku receives ki from the whole universe. As far as I'm aware, he only receives/we're shown him receiving ki from earth and if I remember namek, though I'm unsure.
