It's time to face the facts guys
Obito was afraid of Itachi and here is why
Everything below is manga facts: Disregard them all you want but the truth is there
Obito before finding redemption has always been the non trust worthy, manipulative, cold hearted guy since RIN death. As a matter of fact if Obito felt you were a threat he would eliminate you. However, the only person he never eliminated was Itachi because due to Obito's belief that Itachi would kill him if he knew his secret. Obito feared him and kept his distance.
Point 1:
Obito openly attacked Minato knowing what his teacher was capable of. This is the point i'm making. Obito will attack and kill any one who he feels is a threat to his plan he lacks any respect for any one. Why would he not kill Itachi who was the biggest threat to his plan even as an adult? Answer: He equally feared and respected him.
Point 2:
Obito left Konoha alone until AFTER Itachi died
When has Obito EVER kept his part of a bargain?
Deals he broke:
Reviving Madara
Making Madara the Jin
Helping Danzo
Helping Nagato
Using his Akatsuki as sacrifices
However, there was one man he did not cross and that was Itachi.
Point 3:
Obito has said on 2 Occasions that he is really relieved that Itachi was gone.
Convo with Zetsu: "Itachi is dead I can breathe easier" or "Itachi is dead he is no longer a thorn in my side"
Convo with Sasuke: "If Itachi had known my secret I would be dead"
Conclusion:
With all this evidence AND being backed by manga references and character situations from different characters. It's safe to say that Obito feared Itachi
