No, Juubito was not getting defeated had he not gotten TNJ'd.

Naruto and sasuke sword only worked because of Naruto's Inner Bijuu chakra canceling out with obito's giving them the advantage to strike obito.

Obito was in TNJ mode the entire tug of war, If he wanted to, he would of Took the bijuu's back rather easily and killed them all but he didn't because he was in the process of getting TNJ'd.
