[Theory] Obito Didn't Do It For Rin

If he resurrected Rin, Madara would kill her. Obito's backtalk to Madara is "screw you, I'm doing this for me."

Kakashi... I want to build a world where heroes don't have to make pitiful excuses in front of graves.

He isn't out for revenge on Kakashi or he'd just kill him. He's sad that his friend had to go through the horrible torture of warfare, that he had to feel horrible for killing Rin. He might have stayed with Madara and done all this just to stop him at the end. It'd be a typical Kishi trolling, anyways. "Obito isn't really evil" the same way Nagato and Itachi weren't.

I don't think he did it for Rin either. I think that the way kakashi killed rin and the mist ninja being around showed Obito how cruel the ninja world can really be. How shinobi are forced to kill of their comrades for the sake of the village as if there some kind of doll. And we all remember his quote: "Those who break the rules are trash, but those who abandon their comrades are worse than trash! If I'm going to be called trash either way, I'd rather break the rules! And if that somehow makes me anything less than a real shinobi, then I'll crush all of the so-called "real" shinobi!"

Obito was already hinted towards hating the idea of a shinobi and Rins death pushed him over the edge. Madara's words got in his head and he set out to make sure that no other person should have to go through that pain ever again in the ninja world by creating a 'dream world' a world where the human race's selfish desires never existed. He represents the elder son the son who thought power and force was the way to peace.
