don't get me wrong, I really like Obito's character. It's just that Tobi was always shown as the one who uses hatred to his own advantage, a brilliant manipulator with a wealth of knowledge. I always thought of him as an old man.

I imagined him as the main villian, and the one using Madara. Him being Izuna would have resulted in a great backstory of him planning stuff with Madara, the giving of eyes issue, the hashirama fight, and why he ultimately decided to betray him. it had the potential to be a very rich backstory.

That said, it's really good to see that Obito is taking matters into his own hands and not letting madara boss him around. breaking point for those two is approaching imo

Yeah agreed, that's why I also believe that Izuna had potential, the dynamic between him and Madara, his reasoning, his feud with the Senju Clan and possible rivalry with Tobirama (younger brother of his older brother's rival) would all be great to focus on. Not to mention what really went down during the Madara vs Hashirama fight. At first I thought it was just a bunch of mokuton, sharingan techs and nine-tails bijuu bombs but then Kishi pulled out Perfect Susano'o and Wood Dragons and shit lol

At this point I'm torn between Obito dying a badass villain or him going out Darth Vader style and apologizing to Kakashi for being a bad friend lol
