Nice theory... I have an additional though... Yah may be Obito unconsciously did teleport himself to another dimension and there Madara found him. Ofcourse to have an answer to why Madara is still alive is the same reason why He is in that dimension as well. And if Madara is there, its possible that Madara also possesses the same ability of Obito. If thats the case that solves all the conflicts and timeline issues...

zetsu...obitos senpai observed the kakashi gaiden events from a distance...when the boulders fell zestu warned madara of a potencial uchiha they can use.so madara said,save him.zestu used his abilities to go underground to save obito...ta dah obito is saved.
zetsu did a mecha freeza stlye thing and merged with obito giving him new legs n arm...

So some may ask, How did Madara find him under all that rubble? How did he even know he was there?!
I Believe that he went into some sort of "Fight-or-flight response" when the boulders were crushing him. He was on the brink of death and in that instance his Sharingan evolved into a 3 tomoe Sharingan.
And as we all know from the Manga he can use his Kamui abilities while still retaining the 3 tomoe Sharingan!
He must of unknowingly Kamui'd all those boulders away from on top of him. If not he would of been guaranteed to die!
In the latest chapter we see a seen, where someone is opening their eyes. That someone is obviously Obito and we can clearly see he has a 3 tomoe Sharingan!

This second part may be far-fetched but I believe Madara can somehow communicate with all Sharingans. When Obito activated his 3 tomoe Sharingan; Madara felt it and was lured to the location. It was almost as if the Sharingan was calling him. Considering he was the leader of the Uchiha clan and probably had the most prominent Sharingan, it wouldn't surprise me.

Some people are questioning whether he can actually Kamui things like Kakashi can. If he can't then the other option is he teleported the his body to the "Other Dimension" after being crushed by the initial boulder. So he was crushed but he was taken away; where potentially Madara found him.
Idk about him being able to use MS abilities with only the 3 tome Sharingan. I think Kishi did that just so that we wouldn't see his MS's design which would be a dead give away as to who he is, if you know what I'm sayin'
I believe that there are actually more times where he's warping something/himself away when there's nothing in the hole in the mask (no eye to be scene) but I'm not discounting you one bit, I've seen him warping things with 3 tome....

My very same theory from day one, but now I'm starting to think that he has Harashima's cells in him (various things in the manga that I'm not willing to get into at this ungodly hour...)

I think just before the bolders fell he activated the 3rd tomoe and his ability moved the body parts that were being overlapped by the bolders to the other dimension, we know for a fact that this ability is automatic and doesnt require Obito to choose the body parts to move away from harm manually as it would require time and accuracy and the way and speed his body parts move when something goes through is no way done manually. So basicly his intangibility move allowed him with knowing to move to the other dimension as the bolders fell on him until his whole body moved.

Oh, maybe that's what the whole "Between Worlds" line from Madara means? Maybe Madara found Obito in the Kamui dimension? Sorry if this has already been mentioned.
According to the latest chapter, Obito somehow wound up in Madra's hall way. I would assume Obito temporarily gained enough power to phase through the ground and into the cavern Madra was living in. Madra, being the nice old man he was, fixed him up.

He's never used S/T jutsu w/ a normal Sharingan. If you look closely Tobi has never showed his normal Sharingan at the same time as he's used Kumai. Obito is just extremely skilled at only switching on his MS for the instant he uses his jutsu and not before or after, that along with his senju cells is why he hasn't gone blind yet.
