Obito and the Nine Tails

So, I just watched a video for that whole story-line of Kushina and Team Minato's connection and it got me thinking.

I understand Obito's main point was to obtain the tailed beasts for his raging reasons and such, but knowing that the Nine Tails was in Kushina why would he still proceed to attempt to kill her.

I'm pretty sure that the effects of taking out a Biju is well known since there had to have been previous Jinchurriki's in the past, so why go after Kushina first? I mean, he lost Rin and felt like he was betrayed by Minato and Kakashi, but Kushina did nothing to him but motivate him.

It's probably a really clear answer, but I just want to discuss

I just find it sad how quickly he lost hope. I understand he was deeply effected by Rin's death but he could have found refuge with Kushina as some sort of mother figure and hopefully find some middle ground with Kakashi, he just seems like he jumped to quick conclusions

Yeah I know...but obito is an uchiha..he cannot forget his love easily...and because if ring's death he activated MS...that as you know it shows that obito's hatred has grow.

if u look at the conversation between Juubtio and Minato u'll see that at the time of Kyuubi attack, Obito desperately wanted someone to stop him, he was more sad that Minato didn't even recognize his own student.
and i bet u 100 bucks if Minato had recognized the masked man to be Obito, he would've defenitely talked him out of it and bring him back to the village.
Because after rin died ,Obito desperately needed guidance from someone on how to proceed and how to deal with the situation and unfortunately he got grandpa madara and zetsu as buddies.
