so obito was that strong since he had zetsu in him and a sharingan so i think it is possible.

Exactly and look at his body posture and voice, if he was wearing a mask and talked we wouldn't be able to tell between the kakashi today and the kakashi in the mask.

Let's do some math. Kakashi is 30 years old and Kyuubi attack happened 16 years ago. 30 - 16= 14

This make me think of two completely different options.
One part of me says:

- Obito was too young to attain enough skills to go head to head with the fourth. (I don't think 1-2 years of training would be enough)
- Obito didn't seem familiar in the way he acted when he fought the fourth.

Which leaves me to think there was two tobis. In which the 1st Tobi was Madara. (Flame mask tobi)

Second Tobi (obito orange mask tobi) only appeared in Shippuden after a lot of training from madara

The second part of me tells me:

How come the way Tobi fought was the same as Obito's techniques (Space time jutsu manipulations).
