shisui was the son of kagami uchiha

kagami was in the 1st ninja world war. the uchiha massacre happened after the third

so kagami was no spring chicken when shisui was born

point is itachi Looked up to shisui he idolized him

also i find it hard to believe that fugaku just knew of mangekyou sharingan considering that aside form shisui (who we dont all knew he had it) but thats just me

That could also work. Obito originally shared similar ideals with Shisui and Kagami so he must have got them from somewhere.

also more proof that supports shisuis age is greater than itachi is he had to have used KA atleast once in battle (thats how the mizukages guard knew of shisuis eye) and he tried to use it before he died

and ka can only be used once every 10 years
