Obito and Rasen Shuriken

I just read 617 and wondered, why didn't Obito just use the Rinnegan to absorb the Rasen Shuriken, doesn't he have that ability? any thoughts.

Because he cant if he had Preta Path he would of absorbed nearly everything since he began fighting, it seems Kishi didn't give them all the Rinnegan techs, Madara with Deva and Preta Path and Obito with Human and Outer Path
