So from chapter 598 I think... Obito and Madara's relationship has perplexed me as to who is in more control of the situation, it seems to me that Obito is still leading this war but what are Madara's true intensions? Madara is an immortal and has infinite chakra do you really think he cares about this dream world? There have been various hints that suggest that he only cares about fighting and moreso killing I think the last thing on his mind is peace.
Madara's manipulation
In Obito's flashbacks, it appears to me that Madara would say anything to get Obito on his side saying that he could make everything right in this 'dream world' of his doesn't it all seem a bit too good to be true? Madara wasn't exactly in the nicest of situations being literally stuck to the gedo mazou and as soon as he convinced Obito and told him his plans, he died.
Madara's view
I think some people have forgotten what Madara was truly vengeful for: To take Hashirama's place as the leader of the village and have the Uchiha the superior clan and what did he stumble across in the forest? Obito. A young Uchiha that could act as the vessel for his clan I believe that this is what Madara's actual goal is to be is to be the leader, the king so to speak and as he never expected to come back in such a powerful form he now feels that he can reign the helm by himself.
Obito's view
Now for Obito's point of view, through various panels I have concluded that he is one thing: worried Its all becoming too much for him, from when he thought he was sweating and constantly reinstating his goal it seems as though he is second guessing himself, the more he sees the bumbling hero Naruto and his comrades co-operating and working to a peaceful cause and Madara's ever pressing intentions over his shoulder he is struggling to cope. I think this is clear why do you think he is being so hasty with the infinite tsukiyomi? He just wants to see Rin and to an extent Kakashi, he doesn't care about anyone else especially Madara.
The metaphor
There's is a huge metaphor that I think Kishi is trying to display to us: The Juubi the ultimate source of power and who's on it? Obito and Madara. Obito is fully aware that only one person will be able to control it so who will it be? This pwer struggle can only lead to one thing: Failure. No good will come from it and what do you have on the other side of the battlefield? The shinobi alliance jutsu if i've understood Kishimoto correctly he is trying to portay what happens with the power of teamwork as opposed to power hungry selfishness.
So yeah this is just my take on the dynamics of Obito and Madara at the moment.
Who do you think is in control?
I'm not predicting anything just trying to interpret the manga thank you if you bothered to read!
