Obito and Madara

Okay.. so when Obito had the 10 tails jin removed he wasn't going to die, until madara controlled him and did the rebirth jutsu. so why when madara had the tailed beasts removed he died almost instantly? was it because obito absorbed the 10 tails directly and madara absorbed the tailed beasts into the Gedo statue and then absorbed that?

Because BZ helped Obito survive after he hung on to Obito. Madara was literally chucked out like a piece of trash. The Gedo Statue was completely removed out of him when Kaguya was taking over his body and he had no life support like Obito did.

If I'm remembering things in the right order, Obito still had the Mazou in him after the biju chakra was extracted, and it prolonged his life a bit...it wasn't until BZ took control of him that the Mazou was ripped out of Obito when Madara summoned it, but it didn't matter because BZ was attached to him keeping him alive.

Madara died because when Naruto and Sasuke sealed Kaguya, everything including the Mazou was trapped in the moon except for Madara who was spit out. Therefore he didn't have the life force of the Gedo Mazou or Black Zetsu to keep him alive after extraction.

When Obito lost the juubi he still had the husk in him. Then BZ took over and kept him alive. Finally when BZ turned into Kaguya Naruto used his sun mark to temporarily restore him, but he would still have died in time. When Madara lost the juubi he lost the husk as well, and I feel like Kaguya took most of his chakra too, resulting in him dying much quicker.
