Obito and Madara are sensors?

How did they know that Shikaku was sending all these plans to the shinobi alliance, that he was the mind and how did they know where the HQ is? Did they gain some sick sensor skills by plugging themselfs on the Juubi?

Mind..I thought the juubi was a mindless creature with no emotions or ideals. Plus even if they do control how can they direct the attack? I wasn't aware that obito and madara's dojutsu by itself can see from such a long distance and coordinate the juubi's attack.

giving intel by kisame doesn't mean you can stand somewhere and shoot to their location without a map or something... I think madara sensed the HQ a long time cuz the map was given to Obito and not madara but in this case madara took the shot...
