i read the chapter and i swear to god kabuto said he was slow at the mangekyo sharingan techniques.

itachi has won already

i think izanami is a tachnique like tsukuyomi a very very high lv gen jutsu. but it tricks everything in the body to the pont of nothing is left unaffected.

think about it itachi activates it kabuto is so arrogant he ignores the first warning signs of classic itachi

1 the over all dominance of the battle
2 having itachi push against the wall
3 a feeling of being in the advantage

he has done this before with

you see kabuto thinks he is winning but in reality he has and watching a projected image

Cant people read, the manga has made it very clear.
Anyway just for you id translate. He is clearly faster than sasuke to activate susano in time to protect sasuke who it seems cannot activate it as fast.

Anyway kabuto said 'he protected you with susano but that made him slower'. That clealy means that due to protecting sasuke with susano he (itachi) couldnt protect himself/evade the attack
