Did anyone notice that it is shaped after the double helix, DNA? Think about what this means symbolically. I also wonder what it's true abilities are. Eitherways, the shape lends more credence to the theory that S06P is the true ancestor of all shinobi. Not the just the teacher, but the ancestor, the origin point from where all shinobi are derived from.

Thats been said in the manga several times that he was the ancestor who passed down his teaching which was later known as Ninjutsu and etc.

Shinobi was created by Hashirama and the other founding fathers. I think.

Sorry, I rewrote my OP. He was the teacher, however, he was also the Ancestor. The two are not necessarily mutually exclusive. Not if he had control over DNA.

Thanks, that's what I believe. Furthermore, the raw states explicitely that he is the genetic ancestor, so your thought is very precise.

Well it's likely that he "gave" people chakra by doing giving them some of his DNA. In the end all chakra stems from the Juubi. SO6P sealed the Juubi inside him. The only way the rest of the people could gain chakra, would be if the SO6P gave it to them.

Although I doubt the shape of the sword has anything to with it xD I mean a DNA chain is many many times longer than that....
