Uh, my first thread and I join here just because Naruto seems to reach its climax in near future.

So everybody talked about Sasuke gonna fight Konoha 12, and some of them might died. So honestly I think characters such as Kiba and Shino who barely have their scenes more than four pages in these 500ish chapter might died. And heck I think after all that wish Hinata thought, she also could die. Kishi sure has some twist under his sleeve. Tenten also could die; as well as Neji who might protect Hinata later.
NO, WAIT, but yes, all of my favorite characters above might die!! Team 8 and 10 is my favorite, anyway.

Ok, I'm following Naruto since I was kid, and I'm a stranger with this thing called pairing or whatever. I'm just a mangafan and purely found Naruto and some other Best Jump manga (One Piece) do very entertaining to me.

Just thinking, Hinata sure loves Naruto and would do almost everything so she could be with Naruto. But what about if her teammate are dying. I mean, like what I have mentioned before, semi-main characters like Kiba and Shino could die anytime soon.

What do you think of it? I think it might be a cruel twist for Hinata. She loves Naruto to death, and both Kiba and Shino were her best of best friends ever.

Just my two cents there:D

No. Shino is too smart and too powerful to die to a noob like Sasuke, rofl. Shino barely has any screentime, so Kishi will forget him before giving him a fight anyways.

I dont think any youngsters are gonna die.
But Gai will die using 8-Gates
Tsunade will die
A will die, then Darui will be the Raikage
Oonoki

Welcome To The Base :)
But i think that atleast two of five kages have to die. Onoki is one, Tsunade is another. I hope the Raikage doesn't die, i like him to much. We havent seen enough of ther Mizukage and Gaara has already died once, it would be to sad to see him die again!

Uh yeah, poor Shino. He and Kiba actually has a lot of potential. Destruction Bug that could fest on your chakra and Kiba who comes from clan which friended with animal realm hence hound/dog.

Ok.. Guy might die. But fight who? I think it will be when they fight the Bijuus, but... That must be sadden Lee if his idol should die.
More than that I'm agree some of Kages will die in the either battle with Edo Madara or Tobi later.. Tsunade, if not die in Sasuke's hand (that would punch Sakura mentally on the guts), Oonoki (Too old; Kurotsuchi and her father would fight for the title), and yea maybe A. But in my opinion he's too cool to be die soon.

Thx for the welcoming.

But I still can't thinking the other. Seeing Hinata who is really determined than ever like this.

It would be nice if Kishi stopped letting the important people miraculously survive against unthinkable odds. If Sasuke/ Tobi kills a few of them, it will really show the pain of war for Naruto and add a bit needed heart to the series, just so, at the end, victory will mean that much more.

I predict that Sasuke will be in a scenario in which he holds Hinata's life in his hands. Why Hinata's? Well, at this point, only three people have really expressed love for Naruto; Kushina (of course), Minato and Hinata! and only one of them is alive. Hinata, obviously. Seeing this, Naruto will have to balance his brotherhood/ friendship with Sasuke and the life of the women who expressed her love for him and was mortally injured trying to protect him from the judgment of God.

I agree that Hinata will be torn apart, emotionally, in the upcoming battle. This will also, most likely, be Naruto's final, emotional development.

You sicken me. I'm getting tired of people hoping that Naruto's friends will die. Don't forget this is a manga aimed at children. It isn't meant to be super depressing and it gives the message that friendship and goodness triumphs over evil.

o.o I don't want Naruto's friends to die. Least of all, characters like Hinata, a female character who has a shot of significance (besides Tsunade).

I know that the themes of Naruto is friendship, teamwork, yada-yada. It may be aimed towards children, but I'll go ahead and assume that the majority of the people in Naruto Base alone, are not children. We have a brain and we know that besides those initial themes, it does have plot (it may waver and be shakey at times, but it's still plot) and one of the most crucial things of a plot is character development. Kakashi is an infamously popular character, this is because, from the beginning of the series he had serious character development, which (more or less) reached it's climax in Kakashi Gaiden when Obito (one of my favorite characters) died. IN A WAR.

Kakashi is who he is today because of that, it's not meant to be depressing, it's to help the character grow.

Examples:
Dragon Ball Z: Piccolo dies saving Gohan and this makes Gohan stronger.

Naruto: Jiraiya dies and Naruto inherits his Master's will.

One Piece: Belle-Mere (Nami's adoptive mother) dies and helps with Nami's character.

I could go on for ever! What I'm saying is that your misunderstanding why I said, 'It'd be nice if characters died'.

What's better then feeling the grief of a main character watch a comrade fall and then watch then pwn the hell out of the person who did it?

In Naruto's fight with Pain, when Kakashi fell, Shizune fell and even Tsunade's life was questionable, was it not nice to see Naruto just flip out and beat the hell out of Pain? Kishi is a writer and it's things like this that make him a good one.

Wtf?

They were murdering people back in the Chuunin exams.
The first story arc had Zabuza repeatedly stabbed and he died after doing 1 good thing with his otherwise brutal, miserable life.

This war is supposed to include something about brutality..... none of the important characters have died or even been seriously injured. How is that brutal?

I want some people to die because that's part of what war is. Their relationship to Naruto doesn't matter to me in the least.

I'd also like to see some of the people horribly disfigured.

Again, because that's what war is. Proximity to the main character doesn't matter.

If the argument is "This is a child's manga. they shouldn't show that.", then they shouldn't have claimed war is "brutal", and just continued to glorify fighting and war like every other comic/manga out there.

Murdering bad guys is fine in traditional children's literature.

As for what i think should happen for Team 8...

I think Hinata should live. I like her a lot better then Sakura. However, I think she should be disfigured in some way. A missing arm. A missing leg. Maybe she's permanently blinded.
She's a big enough character that she doesn't have to die to highlight the brutality of war. Have tobi gouge out her eyes in front of Naruto to enrage him. That'd highlight the ugly truth of war.

Kiba could live. He's not got that great of abilities, so him living unharmed or unscathed would actually highlight the senselessness of the violence because someone who should have died wasn't even hurt.

Shino.... i don't really think he matters one way or another. He could die, He could live. He's not important enough to just maim though. He would need to actually die to make an impact at all, and even then.... that's iffy.

I should have saved the "sickened" comment for you. You're twisted if you want to see Hinata's eyes gouged out.

Yeah I know there are deaths in Naruto. Good guys even that include Asuma, Jiraiya, and Hiruzen but the younger audiences, and myself included, do not want to see their favorite characters making it out of this war with missing arms and legs. It would take away from the happy ending that I'm sure the series is going to end up having. The message the series is trying to send to people is they shouldn't live for revenge and hatred and if you do, you end up being miserable like Sasuke.

Naruto got his village destroyed and Hinata stabbed in front of him and he still had it in him to talk about achieving peace and understanding with Nagato rather than throwing a rasengan shuriken at his face. Sasuke attempted to murder Sakura and all he can think about is bringing him back to the good side instead of realizing he's evil and should be stopped with brute force alone and not talk no jutsu. Naruto the character and series is a bit unrealistic with its optimism but I'm afraid you'll have to live it. If it was going to be as gory and brutal as you hoped it would be, Kakashi would have stayed dead, Hinata and Sakura would have died, and the other rookies would have been severly injured at least.

I don't see that happening now with the three main fights already laid out. The worse that will happen is Onoki may die but as far as the konoha teens go, they should be safe from your morbid scenerios.
