This is so true.. True Fans of the Manga knew this entire time that he could use all the elemants. Only the ones who claim hype has no value (which is stupid to think because it helps give a better insight into any character) are shocked by what happened today.

His old age is what held him back, Orochimaru even stated in the fight that in their previous fight before Hiruzen's death that Hiruzen could've killed him easily. Oro only won because Hiruzen was too old for combat especially with his style of fighting.

I think even some of Hiruzen's fans was a bit nervous Kishi was going to discard him lol. But yeah, I never thought that was stated for no reason. There's even implications we're going to be seeing more from Hiruzen (Hiruzen is the only one that can do anything at the moment).
