So, you've come to learn Fire Release from me ? Understand it will be no walk in the park, it was one of the hardest elements to tame. Why don't want we start with the basics ? What do you know of the Katon element ?

LOL. So much irony in this situation.

Anyway Katon release is one of the basic five elements and it involves the manipulation of fire. It is strong against wind and weak to water. However in a situation in which wind is traveling against the fire's direction fire would lose power. In the case of Fire against lightning they would pass through each other. Wind when used in conjuction with fire can power up the fire. Fire can also be used with Earth to make lava. Fire can also be used to create weather conditions for other lightning based techs. Fire is an element included in Steel release, lave release, boil release, scorch release, and dust release. An advanced version of fire release is Blaze rlease. Fire release is usually built up within and released from the mouth.

Some well known Katon users would be Madara, Sasuke, and Itachi as you can see most uchiha's have a natural affinity for fire release. The Sarutobi clan was also known to have a good affinity for fire.

"Not bad, your current level knowledge on Katon is something to work with. I'll give you a run down of all of the basic elements (especially Katon), to flesh out your understanding. Make sure to commit this to memory, it will be useful knowledge for the future. Once you've read and understood the following, we will continue."

Fire Release is the usage of superheated chakra to create flames and heat-intensive attacks. Its created through channeling Katon chakra to the user's lungs and exhaling the built chakra in various forms. Katon is most commonly used in its fire-based form, but it can also take the shape of a plume of superheated ash or a misty flammable gas. In terms of raw potential, its considered the least versatile element as it excels in offensive capabilities, lacks in supplementary usage and is ill-suited to use as a defensive element. Despite this, Katon is the most ferocious element to contend with due to its sheer raw power. The heat of the element makes it capable of reducing earthen structures to molten mud, the parasitic nature of it means it preys on the oxygen within wind-based attacks to supplement the flames and even against its elemental superior, large-scale Katon techniques are capable of reducing large bodies of water to scorching mist of dense steam. The Katon element has little usage outside of destruction, to a certain degree its the hardest elemental nature to tame due to its sporadic and uncontrollable nature.

Wind Release is the element that allows us to create and manipulate wind. When you think of wind you think of something that is fast, free flowing, unpredictable, and strong. In the Narutoverse and in our RP, wind release has a variety of different properties which makes it versatile in its own right. For one, we have the ability to create long and short powerful gusts of flowing wind. Mainly these techniques that are designed to provide resistance against oncoming attacks, reversing the trajectory of weaponry, etc. We can also create short concentrated/compressed bursts of wind that give a pseudo solid form which can be used for blunt force or strong impacts. These would mainly be offensive in nature. There is also vacuum or suction power that can be generated, drawing objects in for close combat or sucking away the oxygen for suffocation. However, one of the more prominent abilities of wind release that we’ve come to know from the Narutoverse is the powerful cutting power that it possesses. Mainly from characters like Naruto, Asuma, and Sora, the wind nature has been shown to be able to slice and cut through things like butter. Wind is the movement of many gases in the air, though we’ve been shown to manipulate just the air itself and call it wind release by comparison due to the relationship.

Water is the most calm and free-flowing elements. These characteristics dictate its nature, making it useful in combat due to the fluidity and intense lack of control that is required to utilize it. Lightning and Fire take extreme control, but manipulation of water takes calmer movements and so controlling it comes more naturally. While its the calmest element, it can also become one of the most destructive. Putting a large amount of force behind of wave gives it power that can't be paralleled by all the other elements. In terms of scale, Water has the highest potential to be the "best" element, a clear testament of this is Kisame of the Akatsuki. Water comes in three main forms: normal water, sticky water and oily flammable water.

Lightning Release is the use of high frequency and is the most fleeting of all the elements. It arguably takes the most control due to its dangerous nature and the lethality it possess. The interaction of the molecules within it, further contribute to its level of instability, requiring the user to take much more care in handling this element compared to the others. Fundamentally, its the control over raw streams of electricity which can be tamed with the right control, it relates most to the Fire element due to its destruction if not contained or used properly and the high level of self-control someone requires to manipulate it correctly. One common misconception is that Lightning release travels as fast as natural lightning, when in reality Lightning is far slower than its naturally occurring counterpart due the user taking control of/taming the lightning. The element itself occurs in three main forms: Normal Lightning, Plasma and pale-blue pillars which emit electricity.

Earth Release is often considered the element of sturdiness and durability. Unlike other elements which come and go with time, it is an ever eternal presence in the environment which endures all types of weather regardless of how harsh conditions become. Earth can be used as a shield or blockade defensively to dissipate the force of powerful waves of water or non-cutting gusts of wind. It can withstand great heats, acting as a heat sink but also as a physical barrier to prevent weapons passing through. Its strong against water, its natural ability to prevent water from passing through it whilst passing through water itself is a reason for this. However its weak against lightning. The lightning conducted along the earth causes it to break up, lose its natural composition and break down due to the penetrative abilities of Raiton. Doton can either be used in this solid rocky form or its adhesive mud-like variant, granting the element further versatility. As well as the conventional uses of the element, the mud variant can be used to bind opponents in place, clash with other elemental jutsus or be used in many effective combinations. The mud-variant is most commonly used along with Fire to form pseudo-lava (molten mud), making for a very dangerous substance.

Along with Suiton, its versatility stems from the state of matter it naturally occurs in. Due to having physical substance, Doton can be shaped into various structures from defensive walls to jagged spikes, from an earth dragon to a single pillar of earth. Furthermore, in terms of terrain-based advantage, Doton can be used to manipulate the ground beneath and around the opponent, allowing for limitless potential in creating successful combos. I like to think of the element as the perfect balance between offensive, defensive and supplementary usage, as no confines exist on what the user can create.

Oh okay I got it. Now that I think about it it doesnt have many versatile uses besides attacking. It in theory can work against all elements if used properly and is very destructive. Thanks I'll remember this.

Replicating the same process as before, I want you to build up enough Katon chakra for a technique of a similar scale. After building up the chakra, I want you to divdie it up into equal portions and exhale a small barrage of fireballs this time, the collective power of the volley of shots equaling that of the small fireball you released earlier. Fire the individual shots with separate trajectories (flight paths) by angling your head, so to maximize the amount of dummies destroyed by the single technique.

Key Points: Same as before. One difference is, techniques which release barrages, volleys and etc divide up the chakra of the original technique evenly. An S-Rank which releases multiple blades of wind, will mean that collectively all of the blades amount to an S-Rank, and not each individual blade being S-Rank in power.

Right. *Taking the instructions of NK sensei I begin building up chakra within my lungs however normal chakra can't produce the flames desired. I began to cause the chakra within to become super heated this is Katon chakra. Once I have inhaled and built enough super heated chakra I exhale and use that chakra to form this exhale of heated chakra into a fireball. Standing short range I aim at the center of the dummy causing the flame to spread to the sides as well*

Repeating the same process I inhale and build up super heated chakra from within. The level built within is equal to that of the precious tech but this time I do not plan on releasing a single fireball. I divide my chakra as I prepare to exhale. I turn my head to the left as I begin my attack. Exhaling I release a smaller fireball and as I make my way to the right I release 3 more of equal proportions covering a larger area; however, the seperate fire balls are weaker in rank.

Turn to face the group of dummies next to the ones you just destroyed and perform the following sequence of four handseals. Knead your katon chakra into your lungs, but this time instead of exhaling it in the form of superheated flames, envision yourself blowing out a pale flammable mist capable of being ignited externally. Attempt to replicate this in reality, surrounding the group of stuffed figures in a volatile mist. Do not ignite just yet, you'll do so using the next jutsu.

Key Points: Take care when using this jutsu. Its not directly offensive, so the opponent could spin on you by igniting the mist prematurely (as you are spewing it).

( Kaen Shuriken Ranbu ) - Blazing Shuriken Dance

Description: The user will throw several shuriken at the enemy and then inflames them with fire to cause extra damage.

Now, retrieve several shuriken from your ninja pouch and toss them in the direction of the mist, before exhaling small fireballs which inflame the small tools to create a barrage of fire-coated weapons. On coming into contact with the flames, the mist should explode into a large maelstrom of fire, completely incinerating anything in its area of effect.

Key Points: Not a bad jutsu, however a better and more powerful B-Ranked version exists.

I perform the Snake, Ram, monkey, and Tiger handseals as I began building heated chakra. Before exhaling I begin to envision a hot mist that is capable of igniting and using my chakra to manipulate the form of my katon attack I can do so. Once I get the manipulation just right I exhale producing a heated mist capable of being ignited.

As the mist surrounds the dummy I gather several shuriken from my pouch and throw them toward the mist. Immediately after I inhale and mold katon chakra in my lungs and begin spitting out small fireballs from my super heated chakra I stored coating the shuriken in fire. As they head to the mist I spewed at the dummies it ignites on contact
incinerating everything in range.

( Katon no Jutsu ) - Fire Release Technique

In a similar manner to before, I want you to envision the nature of Fire release before channeling your katon chakra to your lungs and exhaling the built chakra as a small but potent flame towards the opponent. The one difference about this technique is, the fireball is capable of traveling a further distance (maximum of 15 meters).

Key Points: None, very basic technique.

( Katon: Shōkasou ) - Fire Release: Small Fire Stream

Description: The user will create a small short flame at the opponent. This flame is capable of making the target collapse due to the heat of the technique. This technique requires no handseals.

Now, I want you to repeat the same process as before only this time releasing the built katon chakra from your mouth in the form of a continuous stream, rather than a projectile with no connection to you. For the whole duration of the technique you will maintain the stream, before canceling it.

Key Points: Stream type jutsu require the user to maintain them through its use. Meaning you cannot fuse a stream-based fire technique with another e.g. a wind Technique, unless you have a clone or ally. This is because, the moment you proceed to use your 2nd jutsu, the jutsu you were previously streaming will cease in its use.

( Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique

The fireball will ignite externally, so you will not suffer damage from this technique. Direct the fireball towards that group of dummies.

Key Points: Long handseal sequences in battle (longer than 4-5) usually mean your technique may be too slow. Stick to quick techniques in short range and slower ones in long range.

I form a ring with my thumb and index finger and exhalewhile I release the super heated chakra I built within. The fire ignitesexternally as I send it toward the dummies frying them.

After doing that, I'd like you to breath out a stream of fire which you will them manipulate to form several rings of fire on the ground around my clone, encasing him in a set formation, before using them to strike him to reduce him to a pile of ashes. If you know any wind jutsus, I'd like you to use a suitable C-Rank one to fuse with this technique, creating a larger more potent ring of fire.

Key Points: None really, a simple enough technique. The picture in the spoiler should clarify anything you want to know about it.

( Katon: Ryūka no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique

Description: The user will perform four handseals Snake → Dragon → Rabbit → Tiger , and breathe fire along a cord or any other type of long object, which rushes forward in straight line catching the enemy on fire. A line of enemies can be used as the conductor as well. The flames are meant to target, and assault the enemy's upper body just like a projectile weapon.

For the third and final technique, I want you to reterive some ninja wire from your pouch and use it to ensnare those dummies from a distance, firmly wrapping it around them. After doing so, perform four handseals and compress your Katon chakra into your lungs before exhaling along the cords, allowing the fire to "run" along the wire and assault the opponent.

Key Points: Watch out, wrapping the opponent with wire or anything which connects you to them leaves you vulnerable to electrical currents. The wire would act as a good conductor of electricity, making it easy for your opponent to paralyze you from a distance.

Dammit…I search in my pocket managing to gather 4.88cents I then leave and find another 11 cents in Ryujin’s couch. Here ya go. After I purchase the lighter I prepare for the jutsu. I light the lighter and then toss it. While it is airborn I begin focusing intently on the flame pouring katon chakra into the existing flame. Due to the superheated chakra I channeled into it, the flame has already become more potent; however, with that Katon chakra I poured into it I can manipulate the flame to expand into a larger sizable wall of fire in front of me by the time it lands on the ground.

I begin to inhale as I gather chakra into my lungs superheating it to form katon chakra. I build it up to a point then as I begin to exhale I begin to release the chakra in incremental amounts creating a steady flow of release. Directing the stream and shaping the stream with my chakra I manipulate the Katon chakra fire stream to form rings of fire around the dummies. Once I am ready I use the rings to close in and strike the dummies. (Sorry Idk any C rank wind jutsus yet. But if I did I would use this one.

Description: The user will perform four handseals Snake → Dragon → Rabbit → Tiger , and breathe fire along a cord or any other type of long object, which rushes forward in straight line catching the enemy on fire. A line of enemies can be used as the conductor as well. The flames are meant to target, and assault the enemy's upper body just like a projectile weapon.

For the third and final technique, I want you to reterive some ninja wire from your pouch and use it to ensnare those dummies from a distance, firmly wrapping it around them. After doing so, perform four handseals and compress your Katon chakra into your lungs before exhaling along the cords, allowing the fire to "run" along the wire and assault the opponent.

Key Points: Watch out, wrapping the opponent with wire or anything which connects you to them leaves you vulnerable to electrical currents. The wire would act as a good conductor of electricity, making it easy for your opponent to paralyze you from a distance.
As instructed I grab some ninja wire and toss it in a way that it wraps around my opponents (dummies). I tug on it to make sure it is snug. Now for this technique I build a set amount of Katon chakra until I am ready to release it. Once I have built enough for the technique I exhale; however, I am releasing a steady flow of the Katon chakra during the exhale creating a stream of fire. Using chakra manipulation I confine the stream of fire into a straight line going forward along the cord burning the dummies.

Now, here's the slightly upgraded version of a technique you attempted earlier. Perform a sequence of six handseals before focusing your katon-based chakra to your lungs. Exhale the built chakra as a volley of small fireballs, retrieving a few shuriken from your ninja pouch with your left hand and throwing them in the same direction as the fireballs. This will serve to conceal their presence, giving this attack a slight element of surprise. Both the flames and thrown shuriken can be controlled remotely through the use of chakra, allowing you to control their flight paths as they race towards the opponent.

Key Points:The six handseals is a big disadvantage for the technique, however overall its a decent addition to your arsenal.

I perform thehandseals Rat TigerDog Ox Rabbit Tiger then I inhale as I began building katon chakra in my lungs and focusintently on it. At the point of exhale I divide my built in chakra tomanipulate the result of my released Katon chakra into several volleys coveringa wide area. Immediately I grab a few shuriken and throw them in the midst ofthese fire volleys. The shuriken use the fire as cover to make their way towardthe enemy as well.

No problemo. *As instructed I leap mid air and begin to inhale. Upon inhale I begin gathering a good portion of katon chakra into my lungs. Once I have gathered enough I bein to exhale; however, upon release I do not just fire the Katon in one burst rather I divide my built in chakra and fire off many smaller fire balls that rain down on the golem. Searing him towards evaporation.

Sure..I began to gather and mold Katon chakra in my lungs as I inhale and envision its form as a bright flame. The chakra is superheated and once I have gathered my desired amount I release that chakra in one burst as I exhale. With the bright flame envisioned the flame shoots out as such burning the golem as it goes through its body; however, the golem simply reforms. LOL

Envision the fire you spew out to emerge in the shape of a genuine-looking dragon before doing so in reality. As you release the flames, divide them into three equal portions, which continue towards the dummies in the corner as a group of smaller dragons. Each one will take a slightly different trajectory/flight path, one will curve off to the right, one will curve off to the left and the final one will take a straightforward linear path towards the dummies.

Key Points: The power of the technique is equally divided between the released dragons, collectively they amount to the power of a B-rank. Though I'm sure you're familiar with this concept already

I like the concept of the following technique, since its a nice change from simply exhaling fire from your mouth. Focus your katon chakra to your hands and aim them towards the dummy in the distance. After doing so, release the built chakra in the form of a quick moving barrage of small shots which come directly from your palms. The difference between these fireballs and ordinary ones, is that rather than burning on impact they explode.

Key Points: None, the technique is self-explanatory.

Combinations you could make with this jutsu:
I would first form a mud wall behind the enemy or use any jutsu that would stop the enemy from moving back. Then I would use swamp of the underworld then finish off with this Katon technique. Using swamp of the underworld forces the enemy to almost have to go airborne which I’ll take advantage of since going forward, underground, or backwords wouldn’t help even if he could stop the Katon.

Ways to Counter: Stay close and use taijutsu, kenjutsu, or certain ninjutsu to make sure the attack can’t be performed in the first place. You could decide to only take on one of the flames while moving towards it so that you eventually pass that flame while the others collide since they are not B rank separately. Then there’s the normal straight forward counter of Katon’s weaknesses C rank and above such as water, dark.

Uses of this technique (Battle orientated and non-battle orientated):
Can used to clear forests, and evaporate water sources. Great technique for cornering an enemy to follow up with other powerful jutsu.

Rate the technique out of ten: 6 out of ten. I would have ranked this higher but with all those handseals it gives the opponent a lot of time to think of a counter. Using this jutsu within a combination of attacks slows the combo drastically. Especially if other jutsu within that combo need handseals as well.

Questions about the technique (Optional): I know of the technique collectively being B rank but what exactly are the ranks individually? D rank?

Perform : I perform the handseals Ram, Horse, Snake, Dragon, Rat, Ox, and Tiger then I inhale as I build Katon chakra into my lungs. Simutaneously I envision the nature and image of a dragon concentrating on every detail. Keeping that vision in mind I am ready to exhale and release my built chakra. Using chakra manipulation I exhale however I separate the built chakra into 3 different parts. Using my chakra control I make one go to the left, another to the right, and one toward the center creating a three pronged attack.

With this explosive nature it is a good jutsu to use with the Molten Earth wild eruption technique.

Ways to Counter: Use a defensive jutsu to block all of the fire shots instead of trying to evade them all. Use water jutsu of good range to stop the fire techs. Stay a pretty good distance if you don't think you would be able to counter equally as fast as the attack.

Uses of this technique (Battle orientated and non-battle orientated):
Best use is to keep enemy on the defensive. It is a barrage of attacks so there are strength in numbers somewhat. This is really made for offensive use or destraction for other jutsu.

Rate the technique out of ten: I give this tech a 6 also. It can be easily countered with force. However this is a relatively fast jutsu compared to the other jutsus.

Questions about the technique (Optional): Don't really have any questions execept for how this tech is formed. The tech came through the hands. Could Katon techs be performed similarly with other body parts?

Perfrom : Instead of building chakra into my lungs I begin to build the super heated chakra into my hands. I build it up to a certain point as I manipulate the nature of this Katon to focus more of the exploding impact rather than the burning effect of most katon. Ready for release I hold my palms out and begin to fire off several flame fire shots at the dummy stemmed from my built chakra. The flame shots explode on impact due to my manipulation.

The power of the technique is always divided evenly. Since 3 is an odd number, each dragon is the equivalent of a weak C-Rank. Stronger than a D-Rank but weaker than your average C-Rank.

Yes, Katon techniques can be released from any point on your body.

For this first technique, you will perform a method similar to the Great Fireball technique. Begin inhaling the air whilst gathering a large amount of fire chakra in your lungs, before making a ring with your thumb and index finger and exhaling the technique through the opening. The fireball will ignite externally, so you will not suffer damage from this technique. Direct the fireball towards that group of dummies. However, unlike this technique's counterpart, despite being a stronger fireball, it will also have a much shorter reach.

Key Points: Pay close attention to the range of techniques.

( Katon: Gōenkyū ) - Fire Release: Great Blaze Ball

Alright, this technique is slightly more original. Perform the following two handseals before focusing your katon chakra to your lungs. Mold and exhale the built chakra in the form of a large sphere of fire, capable of carrying an opponent away before exploding on impact. Unlike other Fire release techniques, give this fireball a certain "solidity", allowing it to behave much like a doton technique. On its path, the fireball is capable of breaking through solid obstacles (without exploding) to reach its target.

Key Points: Usually, Fire and Lightning techniques have no interaction with one another. However, condensed/focused Fire and Lightning techniques are capable of clashing with one another. This technique should be capable of clashing with focused/condensed lightning techniques.

( Katon: Gōenka ) - Fire Release: Great Flame Flower

Description: The user jumps in the air and shoots three giant bullets of fire that come down like giant meteors, then erupt into a geyser of flame.

Finally, I want you to jump upwards whilst gathering your katon chakra to your lungs. Mold and exhale the built chakra in the form of three moderately large bullets of fire, which will descend much like meteors onto your opponent. After colliding with an object/person, the fireballs will erupt into a vertical geyser of flame.

Key Points: Believe it or not, but the jumping portion of the technique is useful against evading small-scale attacks. You could simply hop over them (avoid the attack entirely) before releasing the fireballs which will continue on to attack your opponent, accomplishing all of this with a single maneuver.

Since techniques cannot be countered in freeform, this is a useful attack to use against World Shaking and similar techniques.
