BZ has the ability to record all things, and he's able to share it with whoever he merges with. He's been with WZ ever since Obito was a kid, so from that time all the way to now is quite some time to share info. They've recorded both Itachi and Pain, yet they still say that Pain was unbeatable (not to mention it was already known that Pain was the strongest of all the Akatsuki members). Calling Itachi invincible? Heat of the moment. Calling Pain unbeatable? Heat of the moment. Same thing.
