Itachi could a awaken the ems years ago, when shisui left his left eye to itachi and told the story about danzo who had his right eye, he could've obtain the EMS just by getting his lost eye.
He could've become the greatest among the uchiha but mr smartass didn't obtain it and implant the first eye in a crow.
Almost made me laugh to my death because the thought when he would have of obtained the second eye and inplanted also in the crow he could have been a killer crow with susano'o.

Well you have to understand that you have to be compatible aswell. Otherwise you'll just end up using someone elses sharingan.

Itachi most likely wasn't compatible. Both Sasuke and Madara gained EMS though their siblings. So no Itachi most likely couldn't gain EMS with Shisui's Eyes.
