The lightning in the user's palm sounds like birds chirping, hence the name.
Note: Someone who mastered lightning release can perform chidori with just the Ox hand seal.

-I perform the handseals Ox → Rabbit → Monkey → Dragon → Rat → Bird → Ox → Snake → Dog → Tiger → Monkey, then I add chakra to the my feet to give me a huge bust of speed, I run at you (you are still blinded by my mudshot), I hit you with my chidori, as soon as I make contact(making contact should have freed your vision from my mudshot) I use:-​
