ermm yes it is character development he went from this single minded guy who only wanted revenge to a complex character who wants to protect the village in a way that makes sense to him

then explain the difference as i don't see a 180 as sasuke right now is thinking things through and this is what he has come to. the only 180 i see is peoples perspective of the info that kishi gives us which in a way is good as it keeps us guessing. kishi has not gone back on anything he has set out for sasuke if anything he has more so just made sasuke a much more interesting character and if you as the reader couldn't see a much bigger picture that kishi has planned for sasuke with many hints that kishi has left then that is your problem

sasukes way of protection is more likely him becoming the leader of all as he is eliminating the kage as he feels they are responsible for all past events as they cause wars between one another he wants to eliminate any and all that he considers the cause to the ninja world problems and by eliminating the bijuu he can prevent another kaguya resurrection as well as preventing anyone from using them against him

Because Sasuke's entirely one dimensional. It's always been "my way's the right way, and if you go against my way, I'll kill you". He hasn't grown a bit from the very beginning of the series. The only difference is rather than wanting to flat out destroy the village, he decides he wants to "protect" the village, which to everyone else is destroying it, because he wants to kill the life force of the village, the hokage.

Sasuke hasn't grown at all, he's still the angsty little shit he was at the very beginning of the series, he's just been flip fopping what he wants to do with Konoha.

how can sasuke be one-dimensional if he no longer screams revenge all the time? if sasuke was one-dimensional then he would only care for revenge still, which isn't the case seeing how sasuke has bigger plans than just simply destroy a village he wants to change everything.
also you judge sasuke like you can even relate to him, the guy had his clan murdered by his brother who in turn was acting out an order given to him by his own village so please excuse sasuke if his way of thinking isnt normal

Sasuke is so ignorant and blind to everything. He talks about how he's alone, and he totally ignores how he had team 7 and the hokage and all the other konoha 11 and other Konoha ninjas to help and support him. He's totally blind to reality, and his irrational stupidity is somehow validated because the So6P was a ****ing idiot and decided to give Sasuke all that power. It just makes no sense. While I hate a lot of Naruto's opinions, he's actually right on all of this. Who would want to follow a leader they hate? Why would anybody allow them to be ruled by someone like Sasuke? All it would do is lead to another war until he's taken out or the entire world gets killed by him.

As I said, Sasuke's mindset is totally 1 dimensional, he does everything by himself and is too blind to see the world around him. He's too blind to see how the ninja world is starting to change through this war, he's too blind to see that there are a ton of people who truly care about him and want to help him, and his opinions are somehow validated because he got all that power.

I've always complained it was a terrible mistake to give him all that power, and it still holds true today. Sasuke is just so irrational and foolish. Like I hate to admit it, but Naruto's totally in the right here. People talk about how Sasuke's realistic and shit, but nobody wants to follow a leader they hate. It just makes no sense.

I agree that his character got ruined. Hebi Sasuke was not ok with unnecessary killing, nor was he ok with how Oro treated people.

He was someone that commanded respect by his strength and his actions. He was extreme, but he was righteous.

Now he wants to be hated as a monster, yet he acts like a martyr. Disappointing, really.

Agreed. I have not liked the character since the pouty fit on the roof, just before he left the village. I really hoped Kishimoto would restore the character. Sadly, didn't happen.
