It is several times stated that every generation will be surpassed by a new one but this logic simply isn't correct because if every student is to surpass his master then why third wasn't able to surpass first. Also why kakashi wasn't able to surpass minato. Not every generation surpasses other because if that is so why there is not a single shinobi in kakashi's generation of hokage calliber and no one from this gereration was able to get a notice of third because we all know that third never chose fifth because according to him he never saw anyone else of minato's calliber in kakashi's generation. Please all of you give reasons that how is this logic correct????

I agree with you. The most powerful Ninjas were Hashirama and Madara. Obviously they weren't surpassed.

yes they where the prodigys not the generation thats what separates them

I don't believe that it means "Every Generation will surpass the next", although think about it... Naruto and Sasuke will surpass Hashirama & Madara... Thus, they have been surpassed by another generation.

I understand what you mean, although not all they will be surpassed at some point.

the generations where kinda like this:
so6p generation (only one real shinobi)
< the rest up to hashirama, tobirama, izuna and madara's generation
hashirama,tobirama,izuna and madara's generation>>>>>>>hiruzen and danzo's generation
hiruzen and danzo's generation<minato's generation
minato's generation>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> current generation (except gaara)
current generation (except gaara)<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< future generation : naruto, sasuke, the konoha 11(not including neji),gaara , its kinda like a fluctuation of increase and decrease in strength through the generations.

This.
However, BM Naruto and EMS Sasuke will eventually surpass them. It's (partially) what the series is about.

Minato too was a prodigy <NOTE:It is said he was once in a generation genius as well he was the fastest shinobi in the world> even current raikage lost many times to him,he who mastered flying rajinn jutsu wasnt able to surpass hashirama ok leave him aside take third who was well known for knowing and mastering many jutsus and the one whom orochimaru was afraid of was a prodigy too but again wasn't able to surpass hashirama. My logic again wins as prodigies of new/next generation weren't able to surpass prodigy of previous generation.
